Hi!! I got some extra credit questions needed to pull my grades up for the class and its SUPER DUPER hard questions!!! I have worked some with my classmate but there are 3 questions in particular in which we have no idea what the answers are... so if anyone would please explain me the answers or atleast hint something out It would be appreciative. Thanks!
A)
"Name two types of variance and explain how the method we use to calculate it differs from the between groups variance statistic"
Ok, so all I got and know is one... which was the repeated measures ANOVA technique which is similar to the 1-Way independent groups ANOVA in that it calculates an F-ratio of the variation between groups to the variation within groups. It differs from the Independent groups ANOVA in that an additional source of variation is deducted from the within groups variation. The problem is... I don't recall or know a second one...
B)
In Fmax test. Suppose you have four groups you wish to compare in a 1-way ANOVA. The variances (s2) of these three groups are s12 = 2.00, s22 = 1.01, s32 = 0.99 and s42 = 2.1. Compute the appropriate Fmax test(s) to determine whether or not the assumption of homogeneity of variance is met in this data set. Explain whether or not an ANOVA can be counted upon to produce sound inferences based on your analysis.
C)
Explain why there is a “6” in the spearman rank correlation equation. Alternatively explain why there is a “12” in the formula for the H-statistic.
