Can I use one sample Wilcoxon Signed Rank test with negative values?

Hello,

I have 34 observations of growth figures, which can be positive or negative. Since it is not normally distributed I wanted to use the one sample Wicoxon test. But is it ok to use this test when negative numbers are present in the sample? Btw, I want to test whether the median > 0 , so one tailed.

Yes Wilcoxon test is perfectly fine for negative numbers in the sample. You compute ranks based on the sample, so the ranks will always be positive.
