I work in the pharma industry. For a certain test I need 10 groups of animals each. Each animal has a different weight that might influence final outcome of test however this is never proven, it is just assumed. Therefore, I divide the animals in 10 groups with same average weight. How do I now if this pre-selection is useful? When I do 1000x Monte Carlo simulation of 10 animals each, which parameters, beside average weights, do I need to make the conclusion that it is not worthwhile doing ? do I need the confidence intervals or what ?
