I'm having issues with the values from my SPSS output not matching with the figures of 2 two-way interactions. I used hierarchical linear regression for the interactions. The interactions are social anxiety (continuous) X condition (categorical) on personality (1st interaction) and anxiety ratings (2nd interaction).
1. In the 1st interaction, both lines have a negative slope & look like they significantly decrease between conditions. But the output says the beta weights for both lines are positive, that only those w/ low SA show a marginally significant difference between conditions, and no significant difference for those w/ high SA.
2. In the 2nd interaction, the line for the high social anxiety group has a negative slope. But the beta weight for it is positive in the SPSS output.
I made both figures in SPSS, so the output values should correspond w/ the figures. I'm not sure what's going on w/ them. I've rerun the analyses and graphed the results in excel & SPSS multiple times. I still get the same mismatching results. Any ideas of what's going on & how I can fix this?
