Hi All,
I have a mixed design with 1 within subjects variable (context) and 1 between subjects variable (gender). Essentially, I assign participants to view either males or females in 4 different contexts (each subject participates in each context, and the same dependent variables are measured in each context).
The multivariate test is significant, but as far as I have been told, I should disregard this table in my output for this analysis?
My main point of confusion is I have no significant within subject effects, but I do have a significant cubic within subjects contrast. Does this make statistical sense?
The cubic contrasts makes sense with regards to my expectations, but then should there not also be a main effect of context in the within subjects statistics, and not just in the multivariate tests?
