View Full Version : Single case, one variable - investigate whether the variable is stable?

I hope someone can help me.

I have some data from one participant who completed a psychological state measure three times a day for about 15 weeks. There are no missing data points.

I want to see if the scores on this state measure are stable or if they fluctuate. I have theoretical reasons to hypothesise that the variable does not fluctuate significantly and is pretty stable.

I also want to see if these scores can be predicted from the previous scores - and how far back in time can we go to use a score to predict (e.g. the score from the morning might predict the afternoon score, but does the score from last week?).

I'd be really grateful of advice and be happy to share my data and, if any of this makes sense, to go for a joint academic publication. I'm a researcher, left in the lurch by my colleague who was going to analyse this data with me!

Look forward to hearing from you
