Best Correlation Test/Analysis Method

Wonder if anyone can help?

I am looking to analyze and find whether correlation exists between various exam paper scores at 16 years of age and subsequent performances of students at University on graduating at 21 years of age

Lets say each student takes a Maths exam and an English exam and attains a mark out of 100 for each paper. Alongisde these I score the degree attained 5 years later.

So I have a series of data such as;
Student/Maths Score/ English Score/Degree Attained
A 70 / 55 / 1
B 48 / 52 / 7
C 62 / 55 / 3
etc etc

so above I have 3 students A, B and C who scored the appropriate marks in their maths and English exams at 16 and then got one of twelve categories of degrees five years later.

I have many thousands of such sets of data and want to see if their is correlation between the degree attained and the marks achieved as a pair in those exams at 16

Note I do not want correlation between the individual exam scores for a student and the degree but the pairing of exam results and the degree subsequently attained. ie the pairings of;

70-55 and 1
48-52 and 7
62-55 and 3

A later extension of this would be to look at scores in 4 exams and then 8 exams and find any correlation with that group of scores and subsequent degree obtained
